{"id":1492,"date":"2020-05-27T13:11:23","date_gmt":"2020-05-27T13:11:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wizeempire.com\/Wise-Meds\/?p=1492"},"modified":"2022-06-28T09:01:28","modified_gmt":"2022-06-28T09:01:28","slug":"statement-by-president-cyril-ramaphosa-on-call-for-a-day-of-prayer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wizeempire.com\/Wise-Meds\/2020\/05\/27\/statement-by-president-cyril-ramaphosa-on-call-for-a-day-of-prayer\/","title":{"rendered":"Road Accident Fund adjusts claims limit"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>Road Accident Fund \u2013 RAF<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Road Accident Fund (RAF) has announced a consumer price index (CPI)-related adjustment to the statutory limit in respect of claims for loss of income and support as a result of a motor vehicle accident.<\/p>\n<p>The amount referred to under section 17(4)(c) of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.za\/sites\/default\/files\/gcis_document\/201409\/act56of1996.pdf\">Road Accident Fund Act 56 of 1996<\/a>\u00a0has been adjusted to R319 810 with effect from 30 April 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement was published in Government Gazette\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/discover.sabinet.co.za\/document\/10363381\">46322<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the notice, the purpose of the adjustment is to \u201ccounter the effects of CPI inflation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>No claim for loss of income and support can exceed the latest limit.<\/p>\n<p>Limits are adjusted on a quarterly basis in line with inflation.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in Board Notice\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/discover.sabinet.co.za\/document\/10363382\">271<\/a>, the RAF published terms and conditions upon which claims for compensation shall be administered.<\/p>\n<p>The terms and conditions set out the documents that must be included and form part of a claim\u2019s supporting documents when lodging a claim with the Fund.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Road Accident Fund \u2013 RAF The Road Accident Fund (RAF) has announced a consumer price index (CPI)-related adjustment to the statutory limit in respect of claims for loss of income and support as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
